Alan Greene, Esq.

Founding Principal, Senior Underwriting Counsel

Alan Greene draws on over 45 years of experience in title insurance law. Since founding Continental Abstract in 1983, Alan has gained a reputation as a leading underwriting expert, clearing numerous landmark transactions, including the Sony Building in New York and Sears Tower in Chicago. Prior to Continental Abstract, Alan held executive roles at US Life Title Insurance Company and Safeco Title Insurance Company. Extremely well versed across the full spectrum of title insurance cases, Alan has particular proficiency in complex transactions—notably in co-op, condominium, and condo properties across New York City.
Alan holds a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law (now the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University) and Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University, and is a member of the New York State Bar.
Shimon Betesh

Shimon Betesh, Esq.

Principal, Chief Executive Officer

Shimon Betesh brings over 25 years of executive leadership in title insurance and real estate law. Prior to Continental Abstract Services, he served as Everest Abstract Services Co-CEO and Senior Underwriting Counsel, growing the company’s portfolio of top-tier residential and commercial partnerships and managing billions of high-liability transactions. A practicing attorney and trusted counsel to several national mortgage banks, Shimon exemplifies complex transaction expertise and drives Continental’s commitment to service excellence. Shimon has been a guest lecturer at brokerage firms across the metro area, sharing his extensive knowledge of title insurance and real estate.
Shimon holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy of Law from SUNY Binghamton, and is a member of the New York State Bar.

Laurie Bakhchi, Esq.

Principal, Underwriting Counsel

Laurie Bakhchi has been immersed in the title insurance industry since she was 14, beginning as an intern in recording and real estate tax departments. Following her father’s path in title law, she distinguished herself as a title closer while in college and gained agency counsel experience at First American Title Insurance Company during law school. While building her private real estate law practice, she took on significant managerial and underwriting responsibilities at Continental Abstract. This dual expertise—representing thousands of purchasers and sellers while managing complex title matters—provides her with unparalleled perspective in serving both transactional and title insurance clients.
Laurie holds a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law (now the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University) and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Hofstra University, and is a member of the New York State Bar.
Richard Serure

Richard Serure

Richard Serure brings an innovative approach to real estate, drawing on over 15 years of experience. His expertise combines creative commercial development deal structuring —particularly in South Florida’s very competitive retail sector—and deep title industry knowledge gained during his tenure at Everest Abstract. Richard specializes in crafting unique solutions and cultivating strategic relationships that drive Continental Abstract Services’ success across both residential and commercial markets.

Joseph Greene

Principal, Chief Clearance Officer

Joseph Greene draws on over 20 years of specialized expertise in title insurance operations. His background includes managing intricate clearance processes and commercial settlements, skills first developed during his tenure in the National Commercial Services division at First American Title Insurance Company. At Continental Abstract Services, Joseph oversees all aspects of title operations, from initial application to final settlement. His deep technical knowledge and analytical approach are instrumental in maintaining Continental’s standards of service excellence.
Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science, cum laude from Yeshiva University, and is a licensed Title Producer with the New York State Department of Financial Services.
